What are the best ways to lose weight?

What are the best ways to lose weight? Weight loss is physics.  The bottom line is that you need to create a caloric deficit, which means you want to consume fewer calories than you’re expending (using up). No matter how many healthy super foods you eat and no matter how many squats you do, you will not lose weight if you are not in a caloric deficit. Either doing more exercise or eating less food will work for pure weight loss. Exercise is better for your health (because of the associated cardiovascular benefits and increased likelihood that you'll be consuming enough vitamins and minerals by not reducing your calories as drastically), and doing BOTH will be the best and easiest method to lose weight fastest. You have to keep tricking your body, forcing it to reach into your fat stores for energy. How do you do this? Incrementally decrease calories whilst slowly increasing the amount of exercise you do; it’s really that simple. Yes, really. No, yo

How do we study English effectively?

Image
“What we learn with pleasure we never forget” Talking English at inlingua is fun  Remember the times when you didn’t want to go to school or college just because you knew how boring the class would get. Do we feel the same way when we have to go for a field trip or create a model or do an experiment? Have you ever realized why the latter activities are more exciting than a boring classroom lecture? Not a tough guess it is because these activities involve individuals. When individuals are involved, the brain is actively involved, and that’s the time we learn and contribute the most. So who said speaking fluently in English means only a set of language rules and that’s the only way to talk in English? Those who said ‘Yes’ are sadly wrong – try to think of the way we learnt to speak our first language – did we really know all the rules? ‘No’ – we just learnt it by sounds – we just knew what sounded right or wrong. Similarly, English speaking at inlingua is about listening to sounds

Can anyone give me tips on how to study effectively?

Tips to Study Smart and Save TimeI also Linking ideas together to see the whole, instead of just the parts. Building an Understanding Learning is a process similar to building a house. You aren’t fed the complete picture. Limitations on communication prevent the instantaneous transmission of knowledge. Instead you listen to lectures, read textbooks and take painstaking notes to try and comprehend a subject. You are fed building supplies, bricks, mortar and glass. It is up to you to assemble the building. Unfortunately, most learning strategies fall into two basic types: Memorization  – Instead of building anything you simply stare at each brick for several minutes trying to record its position. Formulas  – This is the equivalent to being blind, fumbling around a new house. You can’t see the building itself but you learn to come up with simple rules to avoid walking into walls. There is nothing particularly wrong with either of these strategies, assuming they aren

How does one learn to become a good DJ? What are the best ways to learn to DJ?

How does one learn to become a good DJ? What are the best ways to learn to DJ? 1) Learn the basics:  You need to be good with the backbone of DJing: Beatmatching. Without this, you cannot learn DJing. Beatmatching is basically matching the tempo of two tracks inorder to mix them. 2) Join an institute if possible:  It will polish your skills and help you save time. 3) Learn a software:  Like Traktor, Virtual DJ etc. 4) Market yourself well:  This is extremely crucial. If you cannot portray yourself as a great DJ, you will never make it big. There are DJs who lack technical skills but because they can market themselves they get a lot of gigs.  5) Become a producer:  Go that extra mile. Become a great producer and learn some producing softwares like FL studio, logic, acid, etc.  6) Get a manager:  This is optional. Zaeden if you know is exceptionally talented, but he also knows how to manage himself well which is why he is getting huge by the minute.  7) Upload your stuff on S

How can I learn to read people?

How can I learn to read people? If you really want to get good at this, do not try to rote memorize social cues, like Crossing arms Diverted eyes downward Feet pointing in a different direction etc. This approach will leave you with a very non-intuitive understanding of a skill that has to be learned intuitively. Masters of conversation, for example, try to understand the core of what makes a witty comment rather than memorize hundreds of witty comments and try to glue them all together at a moment’s notice. One thing that will make you better at everything in life is shedding the useless, surface level information like that in favor of a deep, reliant  cause  of that behavior. Going back to masters of conversation—they realize that if they can put themselves in the right  mood , then wit seems to flow out of them effortlessly. That’s what you’re after. So, do not study other individual people. Study human psychology (be careful—most of the psychology classes I took

What is the best way to learn how to draw?

Image
What is the best way to learn how to draw? First -- Two of the biggest mistakes that people make when they start drawing is a) not drawing from life/reference and b) not actually drawing what they see when they are drawing from life.  You see, being people that experience a hundred million objects every day, our brains automatically begin to categorize what we see into shapes that may or may not actually be the way we think they are in our head.  When you draw a cone, for example, you are trying to draw that cone as a shape into whatever sketchbook or paper you're working on.  In order to draw correctly, you have to override that categorizing of shapes, and literally draw the lines and shades that you see in relation to other lines and shades.  What shadows do you actually see, versus what you think you see?  Many people hold up a pencil horizontally in front of them so they know where the edge of the paper will be, in relation to where it appears to be in say, a still

How does one learn to learn?

How does one learn to learn? I reckon the first step in learning how to learn is to learn how memory works during the process of learning.  This answer is a condensed version of a working session we have run for thousands of managers and students (ahem ;)). I think you'll enjoy it like they did. You’ve heard about about short term memory and long term memory. I think about memory in a different kind of way, which may help you learn how to learn. “Memory during”  means what happens when you form your memories. Memory during is memory during learning, during workshops, during an hour of study, during a movie, during your life, during anything. Its the process of forming the memory.  Now take a look at this graph coming from countless memory studies. This is the graph of recall against time during the process of learning. Its called a serial position curve. Memory During Learning This is the graph of recall against time during learning. What you remember along the timeli
